Aidan Moodie is one of the newest in a long line of talented young musicians to come from Orkney’s thriving traditional music scene.
An accomplished guitarist and singer, Aidan’s music has seen him entertain audiences in Norway, Iceland, Belgium, and the Netherlands, perform as the sole guitarist for ‘Orkney Folk: The Gathering’ (2015) at The Orkney Folk Festival, reach the semi-finals of the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award twice, and perform to British royalty.
Aidan performs with the hotly-tipped traditional four-piece Gnoss, as well as several of Glasgow’s traditional singers including Christy Scott, Ella Munro, and Iona Fyfe, where his guitar-work has seen him become a sought-after accompanist.
Now 20 years old, Aidan is in his third year of studying Scots Song and Acoustic Guitar as part of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s Traditional Music degree.
‘Aidan has a beautiful way of presenting his songs…captivating, simple, and effective’ – FRUK
